L.E.A.P 3: Academic Alignment and Program Recognition
In 2020, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through the Professional Regulatory Board of Landscape Architecture (PRBoLA), and in partnership with the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects (PALA), spearheaded the conduct of the international conference entitled, "Leadership in Education and Practice," also known as L.E.A.P.. The activity effectively produced significant milestones for the Landscape Architecture profession. This success has prompted the continuation of the series, with different themes each year. The conference opened a wider array of knowledge and opportunities for landscape architects during the time of the pandemic, and more importantly, for the future.
Once again, this year’s L.E.A.P. 3 conference aims to bring together the Landscape Architects from the Asia-Pacific Region to share and compare the challenges of the practice of the profession in these changing times. The conference aims to help substantiate the IFLA APR’s education accreditation and recognition, as it focuses on developing an international baccalaureate program. The conference will also discuss the existing and upcoming fields of specialization in landscape architecture in preparation for future discussions on their professional recognition. This effort is in consonance with the Philippine government’s initiatives to equip the Filipino landscape architect and their foreign counterparts with globally accepted skills and knowledge for seamless cross-border practice. This is with the end in view of establishing the parameters for recognition and accreditation of the professional competencies of landscape architects.
A total of one hundred fifty (150) participants are expected to participate in this endeavor, with the support of IFLA-APR and the PALA.
