Survey: Micro-credentials for Landscape Architects to demonstrate specialised knowledge and competencies

Dear Members of the IFLA Community,

One of our partners in the Landscape Architecture profession isCLARB (the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards), a nonprofit organization that conducts research to develop practice standards that help elevate and promote Landscape Architecture.  Over the last two years, CLARB partnered with IFLA to conduct a Global Survey of Practice, which focused on defining the LA practice and is now being shared with the global Landscape Architecture community.  Now, CLARB is conducting additional research to help promote the work that Landscape Architects perform but has not been widely recognized.

Below you will find an invitation from CLARB to participate in this research, and we encourage you to do so.

Invitation from CLARB

On behalf of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB), we are pleased to invite you to participate in a research study around emerging areas of practice that impact people, places, and the environment but have not been widely attributed to traditional Landscape Architecture practice.

The success of the study relies on broad participation by members of the profession. Please set aside 20-25 minutes to share your perspective and provide valuable input on this research.  You can start and stop this survey, provided you use the same device, and have cookies enabled.

Survey

If you have questions or would like additional information about the survey, please contact Rebecca Moden at CLARB atrmoden@clarb.org.

CLARB seeks your opinion on two topic areas we are considering for micro-credential opportunities outside of regulatory/licensure requirements:

  • Climate Change and Biodiversity

  • Social, Cultural and Indigenous Awareness

Your feedback will CLARB them understand their importance to the landscape architecture profession and your own career advancement.

Micro-credentials provide recognition for specific skills or areas of expertise within a broader field. In industries like landscape architecture, where practitioners may have diverse interests and specialties, micro-credentials allow you to showcase your specialized knowledge and competencies.

Please complete their survey by March 31, 2024. You can find it here.

Your input will contribute to CLARB’s mission to design and promote landscape architectural standards.
