Obituary: Darwina Neal
It is with great sadness that Darwina Neal passed away on 4th September 2021. Darwina was a friend and colleague to many in our profession and will be greatly missed for her influence and dedication to both the landscape architectural profession globally and the larger body of cultural landscapes. Darwina was the first woman elected president of the American Institute of Landscape Architects. Within IFLA she was the ASLA delegate for many years and Vice President of the America’s region.
Darwina received many honours during her career. She served as the Chair of the Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award Nomination Committee and was recognised as an IFLA honorary member. In her contribution to the profession she was selfless in her contribution to public service.
