Landscape architecture can help our planet in managing two of our gravest problems - environmental degradation and loss of ecosystems through human mismanagement and climate change, and the health of our global communities. Through design, we can make our world a better place by focusing our efforts on the protection and management of the natural environment and humanising the effects of urbanisation and disruption to natural systems.

Landscape architects share a commitment to manage our natural environments for future generations and to connect people with nature in our cities. We are committed to working with nature to provide healthy outdoor spaces, to manage urban stormwater, to ameliorate contaminated sites and to connect communities. Our role is to orchestrate safe and inclusive places that are also a joy to be in.

Whilst COVID-19 will challenge our communities globally, it is also a call for solidarity, common sense and a renewal of common values. Let us continue to share the power of landscape architecture for a better world.
