Meet the new working group chairs

IFLA is delighted to announce we have recently recruited 5 new working group chairs.

Kotchakorn Voraakhom - Chair IFLA Climate Change Working Group (CC WG)

Kotchakorn Voraakhom is a landscape architect from Thailand who works on building productive green public spaces that tackle climate change in urban dense areas and vulnerable communities. She will chair the The IFLA Climate Change Working Group which shapes IFLA’s response to climate crises, working collaboratively with IFLA World Regions, and with the 77 National Associations of the World Council, the group seeks to inspire individual and collective action by landscape architects. Nadine Bitar - Chair of IFLA Link Working Group (L WG)

Nadine Bitar is a global thought leader advocating ’Place-led 4.0 © and founder of the Place-led 2030 network ® She advises Cities and Towns in the Middle East.. She will chair the IFLA Awards Working Group which is in charge of the compilation and generation of all the information IFLA wants to share through its different media of communication. Ofafa Ambrose - Chair of IFLA Congresses Group (C WG)

Ofafa Ambrose is a Kenyan consulting Landscape Architect practising in Kenya with over 12 years experience. He will chair the IFLA Congresses Working Group, a new working group whose aim is to contribute to the development and organisation and delivery of the annual IFLA World Congresses. Damian Tang - Chair of IFLA Student Competition Working Group (SC WG)

Damian Tang is the current Chair for Finance and Business Planning Committee in IFLA Asia-Pacific region (APR) and is also the immediate past president of IFLA APR and Fellow of Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects. Damian serves as a Senior Design Director in National Parks Board with more than 17 years of inter-disciplinary experience and sits in several strategic committees in public projects. He is a distinguished practitioner who have won several projects in American Society of Landscape Architects awards, IFLA Asia Pacific awards and Singapore Landscape Architecture Awards.

He will chair the IFLA Student Competition Working Group. The IFLA Student Competition aims to recognize superior achievements made by students in Landscape Architecture programs and to encourage achievement of the highest standards in landscape architecture education worldwide. Xiaodi Zheng - Chair of IFLA Education Capacity Building Working Group (ECB WG)

Xiaodi Zheng, Ph.D., RLA, ASLA, CHSLA, is Associate Professor and Assistant Dean at Tsinghua University School of Architecture. She also serves as vice chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture and founding director of the Center for Brownfields Research. She will chair the IFLA Education Capacity Building Working Group whose strategy aims to provide a “lifelong education for all” by launching the national associations twinning for continuing education campaign aiming an inclusive education.
