- Slovenian Association of Landscape Architects celebrates 30th anniversary!

The Slovenian Association of Landscape Architects celebrates 30 years of existence. To celebrate this milestone, SALA is organising activities throughout the year addressing current and future issues of landscape planning in Slovenia. Starting with an annual professional meeting in February, events for professional and wider public will continue during World Landscape Architecture Month and forthcoming months, concluding with SALA retrospective exhibition in autumn.

SALA was founded as a professional association of landscape architects on the first day of spring in 1992 and currently counts over 100 members who are professionally active in various fields of landscape and urban planning, design, nature conservation and cultural heritage protection, and represent stakeholders in the processes of landscape protection, management and planning on local, regional and state levels.

Many of our active members have during their careers made a significant contribution to the association and the profession as well, proving to be respected interlocutors on various issues of spatial planning and landscape. At the same time association supports young generation of graduates who are steadily learning from their predecessors and striving for quality and resilient landscapes. Not only in terms of the number of conferences, events and exhibitions organised, SALA engagement can be assessed as extremely fruitful as its activities raise important issues in spatial planning and thus contribute to better policies, solutions and co-creation of open space.
