Call for submissions for AJLA 07 - 'The Green Fabric'
AJLA is calling for submissions towards its 7th issue around the theme of ‘The Green Fabric’
The usefulness of urban open spaces depends on various factors, including their design, accessibility, and how they are integrated into the urban environment. Their design has previously addressed recreation, relaxation, and environmental and social benefits. However, urban open space continually evolves, and new paradigms have emerged. Today, issues such as multi-functionality, climate resilience, urban agriculture and food security, aesthetics and cultural expression and technology integration are being addressed within their local context. The need for a new paradigm in urban open space design is driven by the changing urban landscape, environmental challenges, health and well-being considerations, social equity goals and the desire to create vibrant, sustainable and inclusive urban spaces.
