Applications to the ICOMOS-IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes now open

If you have a personal commitment to the preservation of Cultural landscapes, with a professional background and/or interest in their preservation and management and willing to engage in working groups and initiatives, the ICOMOS-IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes (ISCCL) is the place to be! You can join in the dialogue and scientific work with over 250 ISCCL members worldwide.

Established in 1971, the ICOMOS‐IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes is a joint committee of both ICOMOS ‐the International Committee for Monuments and Sites-, a consultant NGO for UNESCO’s World Heritage‐ and IFLA ‐the International Federation of Landscape Architects (1958). It is made up of professionals from both associations dedicated to landscape heritage. As such, the Committee has provided our input to many important national and international texts such as the Florence Charter on Historic Gardens or the European Landscape Convention, or the World Heritage Operational Guidelines, July 2021, concerning Cultural Landscapes, paragraph 47, and the IFLA Policy on Cultural Landscapes & the Landscape Architecture Profession, 9 April, 2013.

It is important to have as many landscape architects as possible join this Committee! We are therefore encouraging you to send your applications so that you can share your knowledge and professional expertise in the preservation and management of cultural landscapes of global, regional, national and local value.
