AILA is calling for members for their new national climate positive taskforce.

They have released the following call:

If you would like a future with liveable, cool green cities, a place where our flora and fauna species are recovering, and damaged landscapes re-generating. A planet where our children are climbing trees instead of having to protest in the street. Then here is your opportunity.

We are looking for a creative group of people with different backgrounds. We are seeking gender and racial diversity. We would like people from all over Australia to join us. From the dry tropics, our red heart, to southern Tasmania.

We need big picture strategic thinking. But we also need detailed metrics of carbon sequestration in Australian trees. We need creative graphics to communicate complex ideas.

This is a two year term to provide the tools and information Landscape Architects need to become climate positive. This is not just carbon neutral, but where our projects sequester more carbon that they emit over their lifetime. The taskforce will build upon AILA’s climate positive design position statement. This and the terms of reference for the taskforce can be found in this link. We want to communicate this complex problem in simple, graphic and easy to understand means.

If you would like to volunteer your time and be part of this team, please send us a one page summary outlining why you would be a good fit for this role. Let us know what skills and relevant expertise you can bring to the taskforce. Feel free to attached a short CV, and send to the AILA CEO Ben Stockwin at admin@aila.org.au by the 31st of July.

This is our critical decade. Now is your opportunity.
