Croatian Association of Landscape Architects (CALA) is a voluntary, non-governmental and non-profit organization that operates with the aim of promoting and developing landscape architecture, sustainable design, preservation and protection of landscape, nature and human environment, as well as an increase in the quality of life and culture.


Croatian Association of Landscape Architects was founded on November, 20th 1992. By 1993 it was already in the Register of Associations of Croatian Citizens. In 1994 it became a member of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). In 2010. CALA went through a reorganization and began cooperating with regional societies of landscape architects. It started organizing professional trainings and education for its members and was actively involved in legislative work. In the same year it became a member of IFLA Europe, and in 2012 it became a member of the Croatian Standards Institute and the Croatian Green Building Council.


Since 2011 CALA regularly marks World Landscape Architecture Month with a series of events. In 2014. Croatian Association of Landscape Architects is a result of efforts of professionals trained in the field of landscape architecture to operate within a single professional association. As a national organization it has a task to coordinate professional interests of Croatian landscape architects, as well as establish relationships with other national and international organizations and institutions, with the aim of promotion and affirmation of the profession.
